🌳Facts on Macadamia nuts;
Macadamia nuts are
native to Australia🇦🇺, often associated
with Hawaii. The trees were spread from Australia to Hawaii by a number of
travellers📬. The first known exchange occurred
in 1882, when William Herbert Purvis planted several macadamia trees in Hawaii,
one of which is still living🙍♂️.
🛶In 1892 a sailor named Robert
A.Jordan was given a bag of macadamia nuts when his ship docked in Brisbane,
and in an early example of regifting, he passed then on to his brother👬, E.W.Jordan, who lived on the island of Oahu and
planted the nuts in his backyard🌱. A few small
macadamia nuts plantations were planted, and then, in 1926, the territory of
Hawaii exempted all lands used executively to grow macadamia nuts from taxes
and macadamia production shot up⬆. The state is home
to many extensive plantations today Hawaiians Australia vie for the position of
the worlds largest producer of this nut. They are followed by South Africa🔄.
ENJOY!
